FACILITATING HARM REPAIR/ ACCOUNTABILITY PROCESSES


When oppressive power dynamics arise in any community, there is bound to be conflict and harm.  I support communities with foundational workshops, coaching spaces, and healing circle spaces that ultimately support co-designing repair processes that rebuild trust over time so we can do the work in healthy and sustainable ways.

 

FACILITATING GROUP RETREATS


This work requires time, energy, and focus.  Oftentimes, there isn’t enough spaciousness in our every day workflow to feel we can align as a multi-cultural community on a mission and vision.  Furthermore, because of this sense of urgency, we don’t always have space to build healthy, generative, and trusting relationships with each other.  I facilitate 3 or 4 day team retreats that support collectives to create space for your staff / department to get grounded in their mission and vision while building relationships and connection.

 

COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONAL WORKSHOPS


A barrier to multicultural communities engaging fully in justice and liberation work is a lack of common language and understanding on what we’re aiming at.  My foundational workshops create space to unpack and explore language and frameworks related to justice, liberation, and healing in diverse community, engage in personal reflection on our relationships to the ideas, and begin the process of thinking of how we’d like to integrate the ideas covered into the ways we show up for ourselves and others.

 
 

White Folx Affinity Groups - Striving Towards White Accompliceship, Togethe


Anti-racist work requires us to center the visions, needs, perspectives and experiences of folx furthest from justice - aka showing up as accomplices.  The journey of working towards white accompliceship requires engaging in radical self-reflection around the ways we perpetuate harmful systems in our values/ behaviors and a commitment to being accountable to a mission bigger than ourselves (oftentimes offering time, energy, and resources to the cause).  It’s hard to walk that path on your own.  This affinity group space builds energy, relationships, and support from your peers around this work to ensure the journey is sustainable.

 

BIPOC Folx Affinity Groups - Building Resiliency And Self-Advocacy Skills Within Oppressive Systems:


The impacts of holding marginalized identities within oppressive systems is heavy - especially for folks who hold marginalized racial identities.  This affinity group is about unpacking the harm in safe space and releasing the narratives and white dominant cultural norms that no longer serve us.  With the space that we create in our heads and hearts, we can build new skills and strategies around advocacy for ourselves, our values, and our narratives stories.

 

Coaching Spaces For Teams That Want To Lean Into Culturally Competent Leadership:


Equipping folx in traditional leadership roles with the skills to shift and share power is such a critical piece of anti-racist work.  Leaders need to possess  consciousness, values, and skills that support in nourishing the hopes and dreams of folx they support, creating liberating work conditions, and eventually shifting power dynamics.  This coaching series will support those efforts by providing tangible frameworks, engaging in reflection spaces, identifying areas of improvement,  and helping the group identify short and long-term goals they’d like to strive for to support building more healthy and equitable community space.

 

Co-Designing Community Accountability Agreements:


Oftentimes when groups decide they want to engage in anti-racist work, they miss a crucial step - aligning on what it means to be accountable to the work as a member of the team. Without shared values and alignment on outcomes (short and long-term), the work oftentimes breaks down and/ or ends when conflict arises.  In the accountability agreement design process, we get to slow down as a community and have dialogue about what it means to show up for ourselves, each other, and and the work on this equity journey. Ultimately this process supports the creation of foundational pillars that makes the work we are collectively building more sustainable.
